Departure set for June 28th

Hello Friends and Family!

I am grateful for all of your support as I begin this Church-building mission to San Ramon, Mexico. I depart on the 28th of this month with Fr. Juan Guerra of Atlanta for a preliminary weeklong mission in Carrillo Puerto, a town about an hour south of where I will be living for the next few months. Fr. Guerra is a Mexican priest who has led hundreds of missionaries over the years to the Yucatan and Quintana Roo provinces of south-eastern Mexico and his friendship has been valuable in my preparation for this trip. I am blessed to have the opportunity to join him for a different Church construction mission before I go to join Fr. Raoul Leblanc in Cancun in order to buy material and do some missions training before moving finally to San Ramon.

For over a year now I have been waiting eagerly to begin this mission and to immerse myself in the beautiful culture of the Mayan people living on the Yucatan Peninsula. San Ramon is a little town with a few hundred families, and this "Church-to-be" will serve 500 families or so, many coming from the surrounding jungle to receive the Sacraments. Can not wait to begin! I am especially looking forward to working along side the close friends who are so generously giving their time to join me in San Ramon to play games with the kids, teach English and Bible stories, and to just enjoy the company and culture of these people who have called these jungles home for the past 5000 years or so. I can't imagine a better way to deepen friendships than to work together to literally and figuratively "build the Church". I will update this blog as often as I can so that you can join me in this mission. Your greatest support is your prayer! So please remember us in your conversations with our Father! Thank you for everything and peace and joy be yours in abundance!

"Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But be of good cheer, I have conquered the world!"
Jesus Christ
(John 16:32b-33)

Love,
Adam
